FILLERS

Fillers give your skin a fresh, youthful, lift and smoothness.  They are an ideal option for people who want subtle changes or aren’t ready to commit to a more intensive procedure.  Dr. Becker can expertly improve facial volume, soften wrinkles and creases, and plump thin lips. Dr. Becker uses a variety of injectable fillers to achieve the results you desire.

HYALURONIC ACID

Restylane®, Juvedérm®, Volbella® and Belotero® are gels made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the skin.  They are clear gels and effectively fill lines and wrinkles in the skin, giving you a more youthful appearance. Dr. Becker also uses them to restore and add volume to areas like the lips and cheeks.  Dr. Becker's detailed understanding of facial anatomy ensures you will achieve natural results without looking overdone.  Restylane®, Juvedérm® and Belotero® treatments last between 4 – 6 months. Juvedérm Voluma® for the midface and cheek area, and Juvedérm Volbella® for the lips lasts 12 – 18 months. Hyaluronic acid fillers are extremely safe, because hyaluronic Acid is a substance normally found in the skin.  Allergic reactions and other unwanted effects are very rare.  Notify your doctor if you have any allergies to bacterial proteins.

CALCIUM HYDROXYLAPATITE: RADIESSE®

Calcium Hydroxylapatite is substance that occurs naturally in the bones. This filler is white and is denser, making it a more desirable option for areas where more volume correction is needed. It is a white paste and therefore is not a good option for use in fine lines and creases, because it is more likely to be visible.  Radiesse® lasts longer than hyaluronic acid, typically about 9 months.

Filler Procedure

What to expect

Filler injections are quick and convenient. After administering an anesthetic to the area, Dr. Becker will carefully fill wrinkles and lines in the face, using small hypodermic needles. The entire procedure rarely takes more than an hour and is usually much shorter. Side effects are very rare. Patients may experience some slight redness or swelling in the treated area immediately after the procedure. Swelling usually goes away the next day. There is usually little to no bruising, but if present, it typically fades within a few days.  The main risk is bruising, which partially depends on the filler used, the area being treated and the patient's tendency to form bruises.
